TSCL Backgrounder In anticipation of Congressional action to potentially improve numerous senior programs during the upcoming election year, TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL) has taken action to bolster its legislative program for the year 2000 and beyond. Michael F. Ouellette recently joined TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL) as TSCL's Director of Legislative Affairs. Ouellette is a registered Congressional lobbyist who's particularly experienced with all facets of Social Security, Medicare, Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLAs). Respected in Washington, DC, Ouellette has a record of over 200 congressional appearances and testimonies. A retired Army Sergeant Major, Ouellette served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Non-Commissioned Officers Association of the USA (NCOA) for more than eight years following a twenty-six year military career. During that time he was responsible for a legislative lobbying program that was recognized on the CBS "60 Minutes" as being one of the most powerful and influential in Washington. Ouellette brings a vast amount of experience, knowledge, and appreciation for the issues to the table. TSCL believes his presence will have a significant impact on our ability to fulfill our obligation to members. Ouellette's record of legislative accomplishments, his service in leadership positions in two of the most influential coalitions in the nation's Capitol, and his established level of credibility within the halls of Congress, gives TSCL the "guns" it needs to face the legislative challenges of 2000.
