CHAIRMAN In 1991 Mr. McCutchen retired from Pitney Bowes after 11 years of service. Prior to joining the staff at Pitney Bowes, Mr. McCutchen worked in education, where he was Director of Admissions for Midwest Business College, which would later become Colorado Springs College of Business (CSCB). He was later promoted to Vice President of CSCB and two other colleges owned by CSCB. Mr. McCutchen enjoyed a distinguished 22-year military career in the United States Air Force. After completing basic training in 1947 he was stationed at Albrook Air Force Base in the Panama Canal Zone where he completed fire fighter training school and became an instructor. Mr. McCutchen's world wide military career included serving in fire departments in England, Turkey, Libya, California, Alaska and Colorado. He retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1969. Mr. McCutchen resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife. They have one daughter, three grandsons, (one of whom is currently following in "Grandpa's footsteps" by serving in the Air Force) and a great granddaughter. TREASURER During Mr. Stout's 26-year military career, he served in the 53rd Military Airlift, the 9th Troop Carrier and the 54th Weather Recon Squadrons. After retiring from the military, he worked as an income tax consultant from 1966 until 2004. Mr. Stout is the recipient of numerous medals and awards for service, conduct and achievement including the Army and Air Force Commendation medals for meritorious service. Mr. Stout resides in Palmdale, California. VICE CHAIRMAN During his 23-year military career in the Air Force, he worked as an aircraft maintenance supervisor. Mr. Athans' worldwide military service included tours in Korea, Morocco, England, and three tours of duty in Vietnam. His civilian career was devoted to marine sales and services, mainly selling commercial boats and motors. In 2000, Mr. Athans and his wife worked with Senator Tim Johnson's (D-SD) staff in Washington D.C to develop a senate bill that provides health care coverage to Medicare-eligible military retirees called TRICARE for Life Legislation. He resides in Rapid City, South Dakota with his wife Barbara. They have three children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Athans is the recipient of numerous awards for his military and community service. SECRETARY Prior to retirement, Mr. Mines worked as General Services Manager for a Colorado brokerage firm and a Denver-based retirement investment company. Retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, Mr. Mines' exceptional 23-year military career included service in Germany, the Panama Canal Zone, Thailand and Okalahoma State University, where he served as the training Non-Commissioned Officer for the school's ROTC program. He currently resides in Aurora, Colorado with his wife. They have six children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mr. O'Connell's distinguished 29-year military career in the U.S. Air Force included service in Hawaii, Germany, Taiwan and Queens College, where he served as the training NCO for the school's ROTC program. He retired in 1980 as a Chief Master Sergeant. After his military service, Mr. O'Connell began a career in civil service. For nearly two decades, he worked in protocol at the Air Force Space Command Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and eventually retired as the Director of Protocol. In this position, he was responsible for receiving distinguished guests including former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of Japan, and numerous ministers of defense from around the world. He currently resides in Colorado Springs with his wife. They have 11 children and 17 grandchildren. IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIRMAN During his illustrious 21-year military career, Mr. Smith earned the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired from the Army with the enlisted rank of E-8. Mr. Smith's civilian career included jobs in telecommunications sales, the welding industry, and working as a manager with the State of Colorado's employment and training division. He resides in San Antonio, Texas with his wife. | ||||||||
