Who was the first Member of Congress to use our new Online Petition System?
Rep. Ronnie Shows (D-04) of Mississippi was the first Member of Congress to use our new Online Petition System and post a response to the League supporters in his district who have signed our nationwide petitions on the COLA, Prescription Drug Expenses, Notch Reform, and protection of the Social Security Trust Fund. You can read his responses by clicking on the following links:
- Petition to the U.S. Congress for the Notch Fairness Acts
- Petition to the U.S. Congress for a Fair and Accurate Social Security COLA
- Petition to the U.S. Congress for Voluntary Prescription Drug Coverage
- Petition to the U.S Congress in Support of Social Security Lockbox Legislation
Over the coming months, we hope this system will allow many other Members of Congress to address the issues that are of greatest concern to supporters.
If you have not already done so, we urge you to join visitors and supporters who have signed one of more of our online petitions -- click here to go to the Legislative Action pages of this site.
Congratulations to Rep. Shows (and your staff) for your fast response on these critical issues! As more and more seniors become technically savvy and use the internet as a means of communication, we hope many other Members of Congress will follow your lead!
Update: Read responses from other Members of Congress who have done so.
