“Dear Marci” Free Online Newsletter About Medicare

Medicare pays the doctor and hospital bills for some 39 million seniors and disabled Americans. But few people on Medicare fully understand the system. Nothing is simple—from what doctors and hospitals may charge to the choices Medicare beneficiaries have for supplementing their coverage. The problems of how to pay for health care and your rights to benefits become even more acute for seniors requiring long-term care. Where can you get accurate, understandable and unbiased information?

The Medicare Rights Center (MRC) has a free weekly electronic newsletter “Dear Marci” designed to help you understand your health care benefits and options. Dear Marci is the first of its kind to address frequently asked questions about Medicare. Each edition of Dear Marci features basic health tips, Medicare coverage advice, health plan reminders, and links to vital health care resources on the Internet. Dear Marci spotlights different health care topics each month, from supplemental coverage to money-saving local and federal programs.

To sign up for Dear Marci, send an e-mail to mailto:dearmarci@medicarerights.org with the word “subscribe” in the subject line. Have a question for Marci?  Write her at mailto:dearmarci@medicarerights.org.

The Medicare Rights Center (MRC) is a national, not-for-profit consumer service organization working to ensure that older adults and people with disabilities receive high-quality, affordable health care. MRC answers over 75,000 consumer questions each year. For more information about MRC, visit the web site at http://www.medicarerights.org.
