Social Security Totalization Agreement Reform Act of 2007

On January 4, 2007, Senator John Ensign (D-NV) introduced this bill, "to amend title II of the Social Security Act to preserve and protect Social Security benefits of American workers and to help ensure greater congressional oversight of the Social Security system by requiring that both Houses of Congress approve a totalization agreement before the agreement, giving foreign workers Social Security benefits, can go into effect."

It's companion bill in the House is H.R. 279, sponsored by Rep. Barbara Cubin of Wyoming.

TSCL supports these bills as an important step in preserving our members' Social Security benefits.

TSCL encourages members to sign our Petition to Congress Protesting Illegal Alien Amnesty 'Guest Worker' Legislation and U.S. Social Security Totalization With Mexico and to contribute to TSCL's efforts to stop Totalization.
