Medicare Part D is a rip off. My wife and I will pay more for our medication now, because we cannot afford to take the risk of not enrolling. We were getting most of our drugs from Canada, but under Part D we not only have to pay a monthly premium, but also have co-pays, plus much higher prices for our medication to meet the deductible or if we hit the doughnut hole. Forcing us to do this is simply not fair. What happened to the legislation to legalize the importation of drugs from Canada? .While the provision is valuable protection, it doesn't apply to all Medicare Part B enrollees. Roughly 30% of all Part B beneficiaries will not be protected in 201Those people are facing a Part B premium increase of about 22.3%, from 1.80 per month to 9.00, the highest increase in 27 years. People who are not protected by the hold harmless provision include: .At any rate, what this means is the legislation that TSCL is fighting to pass which would safeguard and improve Social Security and Medicare still has the possibility of passing this year.
