The Senior Citizens League sincerely hopes that Members of Congress will responsibly avert the Fiscal Cliff without enacting harsh Social Security and Medicare benefit cuts. This work-authorized number is all that the government requires to later allow non-citizens to file a claim for Social Security benefits. The FTC Advisory Group would bring together relevant government agencies, consumer advocates, and industry representatives to collect and develop model educational materials for retailers, financial institutions, and wire transfer companies to use in preventing scams on seniors. The FTC would coordinate efforts to educate the public and even the employees of key industries who often find themselves on the front lines of anti-scamming activities. .TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL) was formed in 1993 to protect "earned" Social Security and Medicare benefits. Many TSCL members are affected by the Notch, and rank Notch Reform as their top legislative priority. TSCL is the only national senior citizens action organization to continue to lobby for Notch Reform.
