 Shannon G. Benton Executive Director
Shannon Benton is the longest-serving employee of TREA Senior Citizens League, having joined its staff in 1999. She currently serves as Executive Director, where she is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the organization. Ms. Benton has appeared extensively in the media, appearing on CNBC's Power Lunch, writing an op-ed piece in USA Today, and being quoted by The Washington Post, Associated Press, Denver Post, Houston Chronicle, San Diego Union Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Miami Herald, and dozens of other media outlets. Prior to working for TREA Senior Citizens League, Mrs. Benton had a 14-year military career where she served as medical corpsman in the U.S. Army. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Non-Profits for Improved Donor Access Foundation. Mrs. Benton has a Bachelors of Science in Management. She resides in Dale City, Virginia with her husband and four children.  Garlette Dunkley Director for Administration
Garlette Dunkley has been with TREA Senior Citizens League since 2002. As the Administrative Director, Ms. Dunkley coordinates with the organizations vendors to ensure contract obligations are met. She also manages the processing of new employees, payroll, and maintains updates on activities performed by the League. Additionally, she works with the TSCL Legislative team to guarantee that TSCL members are kept informed of current legislative actions through correspondence, e-mails and telephone calls. Formerly, Ms. Dunkley served as the organization's Member Services Coordinator, in which she developed and maintained the benefits TSCL offers its members. Presently, Ms. Dunkley is pursuing her Bachelors of Science degree and resides in Woodbridge, Virginia with her daughter.
 David Funderburk Legislative Consultant
David Funderburk, Ph.D joined the TREA Senior Citizens League in 2002 as a legislative consultant. In this position, his responsibilities include lobbying and educating Congress on TSCL legislative issues, meeting with members of Congress on behalf of TSCL and reviewing all articles related to legislation in TSCL publications. Dr. Funderburk, a Fulbright Scholar, has taught at numerous colleges and universities including Sandhills and Richmond Community Colleges, Wingate College, Hardin-Simmons University and Campbell University. From 1997-2002, he served as Government Affairs Counselor and Consultant at the law firm of Preston Gates Ellis & Rouvelas Meeds. Dr. Funderburk represented the citizens of North Carolina as a member of Congress from 1995-1997. Prior to his congressional career, he served as U.S. Ambassador to Romania, where he was awarded Romania's highest medal given to foreigners. Dr. Funderburk resides in Southern Pines, North Carolina with his wife. They have two children and two grandchildren.  Jamie McMillen Legislative Assistant
Jamie McMillen joined the TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL) in 2007 as a legislative assistant. In that role, her primary responsibility is to assists the senior-level legislative staff with lobbying on Capitol Hill. Serving in various capacities while working on Capitol Hill, and with a degree in political science from Mount Union College in Ohio, Jamie came to TSCL well prepared to handle the responsibilities in her job at our organization. Her duties include working with Capitol Hill staff on healthcare, social security and policy issues impacting senior citizens. Additionally, Jamie keeps the staff and TSCL members up-to-date by writing publications for the organization's website, magazine, and newsletters. Prior to moving to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to pursue a career in political science, Jamie worked at the Harrison County Juvenile Court as the Community Service Coordinator and later, at The Times Leader (a local newspaper in Ohio). Ms. McMillen currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
 Georgette Pam Administrative Assistant
Georgette Pam joined TREA Senior Citizens League in 2005. She was hired as the Receptionist and was quickly promoted to Administrative Assistant/Member Services Coordinator. In that position, her objective is to provide administrative and member support for TSCL operations and legislative team Ms. Pam's additional responsibilities include answering written inquiries via e-mail and USPS mail, coordinating updated literature in brochures, and other informative pamphlets that TSCL provides to its members. Ms. Pam currently resides in Alexandria, VA with her 4yr old son.
 Lauren Gooch Receptionist/Information Specialist
As the Receptionist/Information Specialist, Lauren Gooch is the first voice and face that TREA Senior Citizens League members hear and see. Since joining the TSCL staff in 2005, Ms. Gooch answers all inquires about the organization's issues, leaving a lasting impression while providing members with informative information. Ms. Gooch not only answers questions regarding the issues that we support but she also goes above and beyond to assist those who are in need of help in other areas. Ms. Gooch resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
