Q. Why do you scroll all your messages across the page requiring viewers to have to move across page mechanically versus being able to read down the page. This is a nuisance. Can't something be done about it?
A. You are right, we do not "wrap" lines in our messages. This is so that they better fit each e-mail program that our subscribers use. However, it does cause some people (like you) problems. Perhaps I can help.
Do you use Netscape to read your e-mail? If so, please follow these suggestions:
Click on "edit" on the top bar and "preferences" in the drop-down edit menu. That opens a box in the middle of your screen.
If there is a + sign next to "Mail and Newsgroups" click it, and it will open a list of choices under "Mail and Newsgroups". If there's a - sign next to "Mail and Newsgroups" then the choices already appear.
Click on "messages". The text of the box to the right changes. In the middle of the box there's a section called "Message Wrapping" (If there isn't, you have an older version of netscape, and I recommend getting the new one (when you have some time, it takes awhile to download, but it's free) from Netscape). In "Message Wrapping" check the box next to "Wrap incoming, plain text messages to window width". Then click "OK" at the bottom of that box, and your preferences disappear.
Now re-open the message. See if it works! Please let me know if this works, or doesn't work, or isn't the problem at all.

The response:
"Sam,
Thanks for the help. It worked as I'm using Netscape 4.77 and it allows the setting of this message. Folks like you who are so helpful make our computing experiences a pleasure. Keep up the good work."
