Patty Gaul Joins TSCL as Deputy Legislative Director
Fighting for Senior Benefits is The Right Thing to Do! “Working for seniors and the members of TREA Senior Citizens League (TSCL) is the right thing for me to do,” says Patty Gaul, TSCL’s new Deputy Legislative Director. “Many members of TSCL fought for our country in World War II. They need and deserve an advocate. The big corporations can afford dozens of lobbyists and big campaign donations, but seniors can’t. That’s why they need a strong voice in Washington!” Seniors have found a strong hard-working voice in Patty Gaul, TSCL’s new Deputy Legislative Director. Even before the official opening session of the new 108th Congress Patty was making contact with Notch Reform supporters in Congress, including the offices of Representative Ralph Hall (D-TX). (See “Notch Fairness Act Introduced in Opening Day of Congress” at http://www.tscl.org/NewContent/101804.asp.) Patty brings ten years of legislative and political expertise to TSCL, including having worked as a Capitol Hill staffer for Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA). During that time she worked on the Subcommittee on Disability Policy of the Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources. “I couldn’t think of a better group to work with than TSCL,” Patty says. I left my first meeting with a very positive impression. All the persons serving on TSCL’s Board of Trustees are volunteers. They have proven to be a very committed, enthusiastic group. You couldn’t ask for a better person to support your efforts than Board Chairman George Smith. Patty is a graduate in Political Science from The University of Iowa and resides in Alexandria, Virginia. April 2003 | ||||||||
