“TREA Senior Citizens League, this is Karen, may I help you?”  Karen Ferguson is your first line of contact when you call TSCL.  Her gentle, understanding demeanor helps put you at ease when you contact us.  Do you want more information concerning an article in a recent Advisor?  Or do you want to know how many co-sponsors the Notch bill has?  Karen has a wealth of knowledge that she taps quite frequently when answering your questions. 

Karen always exhibits great patience and will go the “extra mile” to make sure you are taken care of.  Maybe you need to know who your local Member of Congress is and how to write to them.  Or maybe you want to know the latest Cost-of-Living Adjustment and how it will affect your Social Security check.  Your best place for these types of questions is Karen Ferguson, our Administrative Assistant.  We think “Karen is a fountain of information,” and we think you’ll agree.  Over a year’s time, she answers thousands of your letters and e-mails.

Karen brings an intriguing and well-traveled background to TSCL.  She originally hails from the state of Connecticut.  Karen received a degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.  After graduating college, she enlisted in the U.S. Army where she worked in intelligence as a non-Morse signal interceptor.  Karen also spent 18 years as the wife of a career Army soldier with assignments covering locations such as: El Paso, TX; Ft. Polk, LA; Ft. Belvoir, VA; Berlin, Germany; and Hawaii.  While in Germany, Ms. Ferguson witnessed history in the making. She was present for the dismantling of the Berlin Wall in 1989.  At home, Karen has a souvenir of that wall. She makes her home in Fairfax County, Virginia with her 14 and 17 year-old daughters.
